Before you use this estimate

Compare total repayments and upfront fees as well as the monthly amount. Check whether a quote uses a flat rate, nominal reducing-balance rate or a fee-inclusive APR before entering it.

Can I enter a flat interest rate as the reducing-balance rate?

No. These are different pricing methods. Ask the lender for the nominal reducing-balance rate and schedule; entering a flat rate here can understate repayments.

How the calculation works

Payment = P × r / [1 − (1 + r)^−n], where r is the annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100. For 0% interest, payment = P / n.

Assumptions & limitations

Fixed rate, monthly payments in arrears, reducing balance. Enter the contractual nominal rate, not a flat rate or fee-inclusive APR. Fees are paid upfront and not financed.

Use the result thoughtfully

Try a second scenario to see how a change in costs, timing or contributions affects the result. Keep all amounts in one currency and use consistent periods. Confirm important figures against your own records before acting.
